Jalapeño Jack Burgers

  • Prep: 10 minutes
  • Serves: 4

Ingredients & Directions

  • 1  pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup seeded and chopped jalapeño pepper
  • 8 very thin slices Monterey Jack cheese (about 2 ounces)
  • 4 Pepperidge Farm® Sesame Topped Hamburger Buns, split and toasted

Thoroughly mix the beef and peppers in a medium bowl.  Shape the beef mixture into 4 (1/2-inch thick) burgers.

Lightly oil the grill rack and heat the grill to medium.  Grill the burgers for 10 minutes for medium or to desired doneness, turning the burgers over once halfway through grilling.  Top each burger with 2 cheese slices.  Grill until the cheese is melted.

Serve the burgers on the buns with additional jalapeño pepper slices, if desired.

Tips

Alternate Preparation: To broil, heat the broiler.  Place the burgers on a rack in a broiler pan.  Broil 4 inches from the heat for 10 minutes for medium or to desired doneness, turning the burgers over once halfway through broiling.  Top each burger with 2 cheese slices and broil until the cheese is melted.
